So let me tell you a little about my experience with FI. We adopted a Bluetick coonhound and the rescue provided a FI collar. I bought the one year subscription thinking if they supplied the collar it must be good.
First off, I don’t get an alert for over 10 mins when I leave with her in the car. They say it’s because I’m with her. Hmm App even tells you she’s with you when it does alert.
Next I try to work with customer service which is ONLY BY EMAIL. And it takes days to get responses. They have me test it and my husband walks down our road with the collar and I watch and take screen captures and they get those and look at my reports on their system. He walks under an underpass and I get no report for about 5 minutes which doesn’t take that long to walk under the bridge which is PRETTY high above and I would think signal would still get to the collar.
But wait did I tell you it only uses AT&T. Well that’s all it uses and for my area it’s not very good. AT&T is not a reliable cell service and companies have had to leave them and go back to Verizon due to our coverage in this area.
So they tell me it looks like it works fine. Even though I see it wait and take over 90 seconds to report.
Then there’s the alerts at night when she goes to potty IN OUR FENCED IN YARD and it tells you she’s left our house. And this morning there was an alert she was at a road that is not anywhere NEAR our house. She comes walking right back thru the dog door.
So I contacted them to cancel my subscription. They will cancel it when it expires Feb of 2024. They then try to UPSALE me to their NEW collar that they say will fix all my problems. I complain of no phone support only email which takes usually 24 hours for a reply even with an ongoing conversation. I said if I want to cancel WHY would I agree to pay more for a new collar. Then get this…they offer phone support for those with the Series 3 collar that has 2-3 year subscriptions. So I told them I would offer my review and I planned to dispute with my credit card company based on their poor customer service and faulty product.
