I recently bought a new bird bath for my backyard and I thought a bed of wildflowers would look great around it. Not only should a bed of wildflowers look nice, but they should help to promote pollinators that I need in my garden anyway.
I recently signed up for Sunday lawn service (natural, easy) so I thought I’d give their wildflower seed mix a try. Here’s some pictures of my small project. I’ll update this post to let you know how the wildflowers do this year. (I bought the Eastern kit, but they make a kit with Western wildflowers also). These seeds were planted on May 11th.
Update: June 1st You can see the flowers beginning to sprout in the picture below.
Update: June 21st You can see the flowers have grown a lot in the last 3 weeks.
Even more growth. Flower buds can be seen. June 29th.
Flowers! Finally lots of wildflowers. Updated July 5th.
One year update: Big yellow flowers return the next year!
